LSU Basketball Forward Wayde Sims Killed In Shooting

Wayde Sims, LSU men’s basketball Forward, was reported as the victim of a shooting overnight  Friday morning, according to Baton Rouge police. The shooting took place at 12:25 a.m. at a Subway restaurant at 668 Harding Blvd. Sims was transported to a local hospital where he died from a gunshot wound.

Simms was a dynamic player for the Men’s Tigers team. Earlier this week he was singled out in an interview by LSU Coach Wade for his work in the off-season. 

Several community members expressed their devastation about the passing of Simms via social media early this morning.

Sims father, Wayne Sims, also played at LSU from 1987 to 1991.
