I bet you noticed the change in weather this past week. It may have caught you a bit off guard & now you’re wondering what in the world you’re going to wear. Well, you may have some things already so don’t worry. It’s fall so it’s time to change up your wardrobe a bit. Here in Louisiana that can be hard with our tricky weather. One days it’s cold; the next it’s warm again. I know it’s going to be hard to put up those booty shorts but don’t worry, here are some items that will have you comfortable & seasonally appropriate.
Shift dresses are great for this type of weather. Long sleeved, but lightweight. When it gets colder you can add tights underneath with a pair of boots and a fur vest or cute jacket & scarf on top.
What’s great about these pieces as well is that you can find them in a variety of colors. You can also wear them so many places like work, church, & even brunch!
A crop top sweater sounds crazy right? Trust me I know. Whoever came up with this piece may have just been from Louisiana & wanted to be cute & comfortable. You get the sweater material for the fall & a crop top to help with the heat. I was skeptical at first, but they’re sooo cute on!
Cape vests are perfect with practically any outfit. Buying one is truly an investment as it can be worn in any season. Put one on over a simple dress or a plain shirt with a pair of jeans & your outfit is complete! They do have some that are a bit heavy so I suggest sticking to a lightweight one that can be worn while it’s still a little warm.
Trade in your booty shorts for a pair of boyfriend jeans. Yea I know it’s just not the same, but they may be better than a pair of skinny jeans. Boyfriend jeans have a loose fit so they’re not as tight & hot as a pair of skinny jeans. & they look great with a pair of sneakers or even a pair of sexy heels!
Some boyfriend jeans have cut outs. When the weather gets cold wear a pair of tights underneath. It’ll also give your outfit some personality.
All of these pieces can be worn in just about any season. I just absolutely love versatile pieces. With unpredictable weather like we have it’s always good to have a few on hand so you’ll always be prepared. And I don’t know about you, but it also helps me with shopping guilt. I mean if I can get multiple uses out of one piece that’s basically a steal! Oh & let’s not talk about if it’s on sale too; I’d just be silly not to buy. More bang for your buck!
A few more tips that may help you this fall:
- Transition from bright colors to more neutrals
- Try rocking a pair of flats instead of boots until it gets a bit colder
- Take your summer or spring outfits & add a scarf & jacket
As always any outfit is not complete without accessories.
What are some of your go-to transitional outfits for our unpredictable weather?
