The festival will be headlined by Big Freedia. Bloom’s sole purpose is to create a space of diversity, equality and unity through love of music, arts and Louisiana culture. In its first year, the festival has experienced much success as an active festival in Baton Rouge. It hosted 1,200 people with 2 stages, a 40 artist lineup, 5 food vendors, 12 art vendors and 3 paying sponsors. Bloom is looking forward to its second year of growth. BLOOM Music & Arts Festival was founded in 2017 by Jarvis Antwine II and Waid McDaniel, two young adults who had the dream to bring life and economic growth to their city through entertainment and art. Together, they created a team with more youths (Kenzie Dunaway, Danita Winfrey, Reed Dunaway, Mookie Darden, Brandon Nettles, Charles Augustus, D’Juan Jackson, Todd Sterling Jr. and Seaux LA) to make Bloom a powerhouse and real dream come true. The team has expanded since then, bringing more young and creative minds on board to help make this years’ experience and future years of Bloom even better. In the midst of Bayou Country Superfest’s absence in Baton Rouge, Bloom is working to fill the space of a production that gathers the masses and caters to multiple demographics. Founder Jarvis Antwine says “I see Bloom Festival as a vehicle to help bolster the tourism industry in Baton Rouge so that large corporations and businesses will see Baton Rouge as a viable option for expansion, new industry, and opportunities in the city of Baton Rouge. Achieving a similar influx in business growth as you see in our neighboring cities; Austin and Dallas, Texas. Bloom Fest can open doors for economic growth and tourism.” For questions and more information on the festival or ticket purchase, visit bloomfestbr.com.
