Jordan Brand for Equality.
According to Cassius the Jordan Brand and Nike is gearing up to exclusively release new #BLACKLIVESMATTER Air Jordan 1s.
Jordan Brand employee, Frank Cooker gave a sneak peak at the all black Jordans, with #BLACKLIVESMATTER embossed in all white, on his Instagram with the caption “. . . and so does standing up for peace, harmony, equality and justice for All!”
The news comes following white supremacists protesting in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Michael Jordan, former professional NBA basketball player, and endorser for the Jordan Brand, stated in a letter published to “The Undefeated” in July 2016 that he will no longer “stay silent” as people of color and police lives are in danger. “We need to find solutions that ensure people of color receive fair and equal treatment AND that police officers – who put their lives on the line every day to protect us all – are respected and supported,” wrote Jordan.
