November is filled with lots of fun and exciting things to do. There are some great events going on this weekend leading up to the Thanksgiving Holiday. With a mix of family, friends, and fun here are four events happening in the capital city!

Thursday 11.09 | Social
Combine your love for food, wine and passion for a good cause at Forum 35’s Uncorked. All proceeds will benefit Girls on the Run, an organization dedicated to enhancing girls’ social, psychological, and physical life skills and behaviors to successfully navigate life experiences. The program’s intentional curriculum places an emphasis on developing competence, confidence, connection, character, caring, and contribution in young girls through lessons that incorporate running and other physical activities. Tickets are available on eventbrite.com and are $30 each. Tickets can also be purchased at the event for $35 on the day of the event.
Friday 11.10 | Health & Education
LCHE is an education experience offering a program that includes four sessions that cover various relevant topics affecting all healthcare providers today – physician relations, insurance exchanges, and malpractice concerns and issues. These sessions qualify for a total of six (6) face-to-face hours and the lunch hour includes 1 hour of qualified education. If you choose to only attend particular sessions, please purchase these sessions individually. You can do so by selecting a quantity of “1” for each session that you would like to attend and receive 1.5 hours for each individual session attended. The price is $75 per session or $300 for the full day.

Veteran’s Day Parade

Floats, walking units and military vehicles
The U.S.S. Kidd will be open throughout the day, with live musical entertainment and a DJ from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. The event will also feature a flag display and valuable information for veterans and their families.
Food, drinks and parade T-shirts will be available for purchase.
CAVA will be accepting warm clothing for homeless veterans; canned food and non-perishables for the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank; and new, unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots.
Sunday 11.12 | Networking
Black Girl Mixer is a social mixer for aspiring, new, and seasoned creatives and entrepreneurs! Grab your business cards and come out and network with other black creatives in the Baton Rouge area. This is a great opportunity to meet new people, network, create new connections, and possible collaborations with other masterminds as you enjoy refreshments, drinks, and good vibes. There will be speakers and creative performances.Vendors will have tables to provide their products and services!
